Louisiana is the 25th largest U.S. state based on population. There are roughly 253 hospitals and healthcare facilities in Louisiana according to Definitive Healthcare data, many of which are part of a broader integrated delivery network (IDN).

What Louisiana IDN has the most affiliated hospitals?
The Louisiana health system with the most hospitals is Ochsner Health System, with 37 hospitals. It is the leading non-profit healthcare provider within the Gulf South, and its flagship hospital has been named the #1 hospital in Louisiana by U.S. News & World Report for 12 consecutive years.
The health system with the second most affiliated hospitals is Allegiance Health Management, with 15 hospitals. It offers both acute and post-acute care at its hospitals, with a particular emphasis on rural and community healthcare facilities.
Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOL) and AMG Integrated Healthcare Management both have the third-highest number of hospitals, with 12 affiliated hospitals each. FMOL is a non-profit Catholic healthcare ministry with hospitals, community clinics, and specialty centers under its jurisdiction. AMG Integrated Healthcare Management has both long-term acute care hospitals and physical rehabilitation hospitals within its network.

What Louisiana IDN has the highest net patient revenue (NPR)?
The IDN in Louisiana with the highest net patient revenue is the Ochsner Health System, with an NPR of $4.9 billion. With the highest number of staffed beds and discharges, it’s unsurprising that Ochsner Health System brings in the highest NPR since they can see more patients each year than any other LA health system.
